President William Ruto on Monday, October 27, presided over the official handover of keys to the new owners of the 220-unit Elburgon Affordable Housing Estate in Molo Constituency, Nakuru County. The event marked a major milestone in the government’s Affordable Housing Program (AHP), as the Elburgon project became the third completed estate under the initiative.

The housing estate, constructed under the BETA Affordable Housing Scheme, comprises nine modern blocks of G+4 buildings, collectively accommodating up to 1,500 residents. The project reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to provide decent and affordable housing for Kenyans while promoting urban renewal and job creation through the construction sector.

Speaking during the ceremony, President Ruto reaffirmed his administration’s determination to ensure every Kenyan has access to dignified housing. He noted that the project not only provides shelter but also stimulates local economies by engaging youth and small-scale contractors in construction and related works. The Head of State emphasized that housing is a key pillar of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), which aims to uplift living standards and create inclusive economic opportunities.

The completion and handover of the Elburgon Affordable Housing Estate reaffirm the government’s transformative development agenda. With similar projects underway across the country, the administration’s three-year performance record is increasingly being defined by tangible results—especially in housing, infrastructure, and job creation.
