Deputy President, Prof. Kithure Kindiki has urged political leaders to tone down inflammatory rhetoric, warning that careless statements risk reversing gains made toward national unity and cohesion. He said the country’s stability and development depend on responsible leadership that prioritises harmony over short-term political excitement.
DP Kindiki has repeatedly emphasized that leaders must weigh their words carefully to avoid deepening divisions. He called for mature, issue-based politics that strengthens national solidarity and safeguards the collective progress Kenya has achieved in recent years.
The Deputy President reaffirmed the government’s commitment to inclusive development, noting that no region or community will be sidelined on the basis of political, ethnic or religious differences. He credited President William Ruto with setting the tone for a united administration and said the government remains firmly focused on delivering services equitably across the country.

Kindiki has consistently pledged to fully execute his role as the principal assistant to the President, saying his office is closely coordinating Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries to ensure government directives translate into tangible results. He said priority has been placed on roads, electricity, markets and other grassroots projects, with strict follow-up to ensure all promises are honoured nationwide.
Addressing concerns over low tea bonuses affecting farmers in tea-growing regions, Kindiki said the President had entrusted him with overseeing key agricultural reforms. He assured farmers that lasting solutions are being pursued, including consultations with regional leaders, to stabilise the sector and protect livelihoods.
The Deputy President has increasingly emerged as a sober, firm and towering political figure whose appeal transcends regional and ethnic boundaries. While providing steady leadership in Mt. Kenya and beyond, Kindiki has positioned himself as a development-conscious leader focused on performance rather than tribal or divisive rhetoric, reinforcing his commitment to national unity and the success of the government’s development agenda.
