President William Ruto has firmly reiterated his commitment to steering Kenya through a period of transformative development, declaring he is uniquely suited to take on the nation’s toughest job. In a meeting with leaders from Tharaka Nithi County at State House, the President made it clear that the time for excuses is over, and the era of delivery has begun. With firm conviction, he promised to honor every pledge made during his campaign — one by one.

Drawing from his deep political experience, Ruto emphasized that his journey through Kenya’s political ranks has fully equipped him to tackle the country’s most urgent issues. With 15 years as a Member of Parliament and a decade as Deputy President, he highlighted his understanding of the governance machinery and challenges that ordinary citizens face. Unlike past administrations, Ruto insisted he has neither the luxury of excuses nor the burden of inexperience.

The President noted that his grassroots upbringing, academic credentials, and exposure to the country’s political evolution provide him with a rare and potent combination of leadership attributes. Proudly citing his achievement as the first PhD holder in office, Ruto underlined that he is both intellectually and practically prepared to serve. “I’m not too old, I’m educated, and I know what the common mwananchi is going through,” he stated, reinforcing his commitment to grounded, informed leadership.

In a powerful analogy, President Ruto likened his leadership to a fusion of Kenya’s past heads of state, saying he embodies the courage of Jomo Kenyatta, the grasp of Daniel Moi, the intellect of Mwai Kibaki, and the development plan shared with Uhuru Kenyatta. This, he said, places a greater burden on him to perform beyond expectations. “I have no choice but to deliver. I am the convergence of Kenya’s leadership strengths,” he added.

With a clear agenda in place, the President reiterated key focus areas of his administration — from revamping agriculture to boost food security, stabilizing the economy through fiscal reforms, transforming the health sector, and upgrading infrastructure to connect and uplift all regions. He affirmed that these goals are not mere aspirations but concrete tasks his government is already acting upon with urgency.

Closing his address, President Ruto appealed to all Kenyans for unity, understanding, and prayers. He described the presidency as a sacred responsibility and pledged to remain steadfast in his mission to transform Kenya. “This is the job I have. It is tough, but I will not fail. With your support, I will deliver for every Kenyan, in every county,” he concluded, cementing his resolve to serve as a president for all.
