Elburgon Affordable Housing Project Nears Completion, Boosting Nakuru’s Urban Development
The Affordable Housing Project in Elburgon, Molo Constituency, Nakuru County, commissioned by President William Ruto in September 2023, is approaching finalization. With 95% of the work completed, the project represents a major stride in the government’s broader plan to bridge the housing deficit under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.
The development consists of nine residential blocks designed to accommodate a total of 220 units. The configuration includes 60 studio apartments, 20 one-bedroom units, 20 three-bedroom units, and 120 two-bedroom units across six blocks. This variety offers accessible housing options for different family sizes and income brackets.
The builders’ scope of work is nearly complete at 98%, with remaining efforts concentrated on civil infrastructure, such as access roads and landscaping. On-site activity remains robust, with 220 workers currently removing scaffolding and preparing for final touches as the project moves into its final phase.
Set for completion by the end of June 2025, the Elburgon project is expected to provide modern, dignified housing while creating employment opportunities and spurring economic activity in the region. It stands as a visible testament to the Kenya Kwanza administration’s commitment to inclusive urban transformation.
